Lonnie L. Brewer

Lonnie L. Brewer, 82, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at home.

A gathering to celebrate Lonnie’s life is 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at Crabby’s Bar & Grill, Coal Valley. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the Coal Valley Lions Club.

Lonnie Lee Brewer was born June 27, 1942, in Moline, the son of Carlton and Ethel (McClary) Brewer. He served in the U.S. Army and went on have a long career at Montgomery Elevator as an assembler. 

He enjoyed watching Nascar and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He also enjoyed taking part in (and running) sports brackets and pools of all kinds, and gardening. 

Lonnie is survived by his siblings, Jerry (Bernadine) Brewer of East Moline, Marilyn Schnell of Moline, Linda (Paul) Gomez of East Moline, and Sue Mooney of East Moline; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends including his second family at Crabby’s Bar & Grill in Coal Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Brewer; and brother-in-law, Gerald Schnell.
