Lola Mae Smith

Coal Valley, Illinois Lola M. Smith, 64, of Coal Valley, died Monday, October 18, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Cremation will follow the funeral. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to her family. The former Lola Mae Glenn was born March 19, 1940, in Fornfelt, Missouri. She was raised by her step-father and mother, Harold and Pearl (Gammons) Glenn. She married Daniel A. Smith on November 4, 1963, in Rock Island. She worked at Naibi Zoo and delivered papers with her husband for the Dispatch and Argus for several years. She loved to read and attend her granddaughter's softball games, was an avid Chicago Cubs, NASCAR racing and college football fan, enjoyed her animals and had belonged to the Quad city Cloggers. Lola is survived by her husband, Dan; three children and spouses, Liz and Mark Zeroth of Moline, Dusty and Lori Mabie of East Moline, and Bonnie and Kriss Kent of Coal Valley; three granddaughters, Trisha Zeroth, Cherree Blair and Jennifer Kent; two great-granddaughters, Nicole Hollon and Cayla Long; and several brothers and sisters, as well as several close friends.
