Lois M. Willard, 83, of Woodhull, Illinois, died Friday, March 4, 2022, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley, with Pastor Nick Billiet officiating. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
The former Lois Maxine Peterson was born July 15, 1938, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Reuben T. and Nellie S. (Gustafson) Peterson. She married David Willard on February 7, 1959, in Andover, Illinois. He died May 9, 1994. She was raised on a farm and was a bank teller at Black Hawk Bank in Rock Island. When David was later ordained, she became a pastor’s wife. She was a huge fan of both the St. Louis Cardinals and Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed playing the piano, playing cards and doing puzzles. Above all, her family was most important to her.
Lois is survived by four children and spouses, Jeff and Nancy Willard of Orion, Debbie Sanders of Atkinson, Terri and Tim Brown of Alpha, and Sue and Eduardo Bermudez of Princeton; ten grandchildren and spouses, Greg and Nickie Willard, Christie and Kevin Rangel, Trisha and Josh Keel, Derek and Kim Sanders, Kelsey and Tyler Mickelson, Tauna and Erik Roth, Timothy Brown, Miguel and Vanessa Bermudez, Ana and Neil Arch, and Vanessa and Corbin Hopkins; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Harriett Peterson of Woodhull, Jan Peterson of Moline, and Barbara Griffin of Geneseo; and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Mike Sanders; grandchildren, Daniel Bermudez and Trista Brown; and brothers, Leland and Dale Peterson.
