Lois Jean Schroeder, 76, of Orion, Illinois, died Friday, April 14, 2006, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Wilfred Karsten officiating. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Visitation is one hour before the services in the church. Memorials may be made to the church, where she was a member, or Oak Glen Home Auxiliary. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, is in charge of arrangements.
Lois was born February 23, 1930, in Kewanee, Illinois, to Frank and Louise (Beyer) Hepner. She graduated from Coal Valley High School. She married Martin E. Schroeder on August 6, 1952, in Coal Valley. He died March 11, 2006.
She farmed with her husband in Western Township, and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal prior to her marriage. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, knitting, and especially being with her family.
Lois is survived by a daughter, Diane Schroeder of Orion; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Julie Schroeder of Andover, Illinois; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Grace Hepner of Morrison, Illinois; a very special niece, Barbara Gillen of Moline; and other nieces and nephews..
