Lois E. Maddox, 99, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Avonlea Cottage, Milan, Illinois.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Rock Island Memorial Park. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Avonlea Cottage.
The former Lois E. Dinwiddie was born May 12, 1921, in Philadelphia, Missouri, the daughter of Ernest and Lillie (Phillips) Dinwiddie. She married Elwood Stark Maddox on September 18, 1939, in New London, Missouri. He died February 5, 1994. She worked for Millard Maintenance for many years.
Lois enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking, woodworking, and traveling. Above all else, family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois is survived by four children, Jerry (Marge) Maddox of Coal Valley, Sherry Hoskins of Coal Valley, Debby Henderson of Moline, and Donald (Ouida) Maddox of Aledo, Illinois; grandchildren, Robert Maddox, Scott (Kym) Maddox, Mark (Whitney) Maddox, Chris Hoskins, and Deanna Crosiar; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Manuel) Guillen, Hunter Grau, Payton and Mason Maddox, and Madison and Jacob Maddox; and great-great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood; her son, Robert Maddox; a son-in-law, Jon Hoskins; and siblings, Ernestine, Marjorie, Harold and Laverne.
