Lois Cogdill

Lois P. Cogdill, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, May 30, 2014, in Aspen Rehab and Health Care Center, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Papa's Helping Veterans.

The former Lois Pearl Cogdill was born July 1, 1924, in Moline, to Earl and Lila Cooley Rizner. She married Willard Cogdill on December 10, 1960, in Jacksonville, Illinois. He died November 10, 2012. She was an accounting technican at the Rock Island Arsenal for 27 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Auxilaries of the Moline American Legion and Moline Vikings Lodge, and enjoyed playing euchre and crocheting.

Lois is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Becky Coborn of Meridian, Mississippi; step-sons and step-daughters-in-law, Dan and Kelli Cogdill of East Moline, Steve Cogdill of Silvis; and Christy Cogdill of Moline; eight grandchildren, Missy Housenga, and Kyle, Kory, Troy, Eric, Hillary, Jordyn, and Ben Cogdill; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a step-son, David Cogdill, a granddaughter, Kasey Cogdill, and a sister, Dorothy Odean.
