Lisa Kost

Lisa Kost, 91, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.

Services are 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Church of Peace, Rock Island. Visitation is one-half hour prior to services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities, with burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.

The former Lisa Hanna Marie Dettmann was born June 22, 1925, in Luebeck, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Henny (Growe) Dettmann. She married Gerhard Kost on August 31, 1946, in Luebeck. He died November 24, 2010.

Lisa worked for 1st National Bank in Rock Island for around 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved traveling, gardening, baking, entertaining, along with knitting and other needlework.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Jutta and Jerry Kehoe of Chicago, Astrid and Craig Diviney of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Thomas and Christina Kost of Milan; grandchildren, Brian and Debbie Kehoe, Kevin and Elaine Kehoe, Patrick Kehoe, Adam Diviney, Elliot Diviney, and Lisa and Jesse Casey; and four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Connor, Kara and Haley. She was preceded in death by her husband.
