Linda R. Moore

Linda R. Moore, 75, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at her son's home in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with the Rev. Dr. Flint Miller officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The former Linda Ruth Gardner was born April 6, 1942, in Moline, the daughter of Robert and Melba (Weaver) Gardner. She graduated from Black Hawk College and went on to work at the Rock Island Arsenal, where she met L. Bruce Moore. The couple was married on May 2, 1964, in Moline. He died on January 26, 2009.

Linda and Bruce owned and operated Machine Research Co. in East Moline and Rock Island, with Linda serving as the company's accountant and bookkeeper.

Linda's passion was "collecting", especially dolls, teddy bears, Cabbage Patch Kids, antiques and miniatures. She was also an artist who particularly enjoyed painting in her younger years and again in recent years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Moline, and the Questers Club.

Above all else, family was the most important thing to Linda. She was very active in her sons' lives, volunteering in the classroom and PTA, and supporting the love of racing they shared with their dad.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Patrick Moore of Bettendorf, and Shawn and Amanda Moore of Downers Grove, Illinois; five grandchildren, Duncan Moore of Iowa City, Iowa, Griffin Moore of Bettendorf, and Avery, Sydney and Paige Moore, all of Downers Grove; siblings, Robert Jr. and Nancy Gardner of Port Byron, Illinois, Pattie Gardner of Moline, and Diane and John Desherow of Yantis, Texas; and many nieces and nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
