Linda Czekalski

Linda Czekalski, 68, of Rock Island, Illinois, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 26, 2019, in University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.

Services are 10:00 am. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Rev. Ed Kuriscak officiating. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mission Program at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

The former Linda Lorene McFate was born October 26, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa, to Samuel Jr. and Lorene (Rowe) McFate. She graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and married her "Polack" Ward Czekalski on August 14, 1970, in Rock Island. He died March 8, 2016. She was a licensed day care provider for over 25 years and was known as Dee Dah by the children she cared for in her home. She was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church where she was nursery director for many years. Her main hobby was her family and all of their activities. She loved to vacation in Hawaii with her husband and friends, loved to bake and do cake decorating for others, enjoyed sewing, was known for her baby bibs, gardening and cooking, and loved being a grandma.

Linda is survived by four children, Wendy Czekalski and Tracy Czekalski, both of Rock Island, Samuel Czekalski and his wife Stephanie of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Christy Czekalski and her partner Erin Broderson of Davenport; grandchildren, Tessa Czekalski, Cullen Parker, Kinley Czekalski, and Clayton and Gannon Broderson; a brother, Tim McFate of Davenport; and lifelong friends, Skip and Carol Bartz and Joyce Donovan.
