Lina J. Anderson

Lina J, Anderson, 83, a lifelong resident of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Sunday, September 20, 2015, in her home.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Visitation is one hour before the services, and friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at the church following the funeral. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, is serving the family.

The former Lina Jane Lees was born March 8, 1932, in Coal Valley, to Lyle and Alice (Harsha) Lees. She married Marvin Anderson on August 16, 1954, in Milan, Illinois. She had been employed in the computer room at J. I. Case Company for 20 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, enjoyed doing handiwork, and was a proud Republican.

Lina is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marvin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Martha Anderson of Geneseo, Illinois, and Kevin and Michelle Anderson of Coal Valley; three grandchildren and spouses, Kristian Anderson and his fiancée Sarah Ward, Trista and Chad Cronkleton, and Tyler and Kari Anderson; two step-grandchildren, Dennis Kirschbaum and Denise and David Browning; five great-grandchildren;; and siblings and their spouses, Darlene and Richard Anderson of Coal Valley, and Jim and Ruth Lees of Lynn Center, Illinois. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lou McWhinney and Ruth Martin.
