Clarence LeRoy Hull was born in Moline on April 13, 1929, the son of Clarence Dewey and Jenny Maude Myers Hull. After graduating from Moline High School in 1947, he worked for the Power Company and later became a Moline Firefighter for 24 years. On his days off, he was a painting contractor and did real estate investments. He married Mary Ellen Mountain on March 25, 1949, in Moline, and they raised three children. They were former members of Short Hills Country Club and The First Congregational Church. He was a Mason with the Shriners organization and belonged to the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline, and Doric Lodge #319, AF & AM.
LeRoy and Mary were fortunate to have traveled all over the world and spent their winters in Arizona and Florida before deciding three years ago to make Fort Myers their permanent residence. LeRoy loved spending time with family and friends, was an avid golfer, had a fascination with old cars, and always loved life. He was always there for anyone in need and loved being around people. His loss will be felt by all who knew him; may our memories and love forever keep his spirit alive.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Sue and husband Dr. Mark Whitney of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his son, Tom and wife Jan Hull of Tempe, Arizona; his son, Ken Hull of Solana Beach, California, as well as three grandchildren, Jennifer Lindsey of Springfield, Missouri, Kate Hull of Washington D.C., and Grant Hull of Cincinnati, Ohio, and one great-grandchild, Matthew Lindsey. Other survivors include a sister, Pearl Fulscher Tetens of Moline, along with nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; a sister, Rosie; and a grandson, Josh Whitney.
LeRoy?s family invites friends to sign his guestbook, share a story about him or light a candle in his memory at www.TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
