Coal Valley, Illinois Leota B. Lundquist, 85, of Coal Valley, died Friday, September 28, 2001, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley. The Rev. Tim Snart will officiate. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the church or Oak Glen Home. The former Leota Bernadine Roach was born November 2, 1915, in Elmira, Illinois, the daughter of Asa and Ella (Petty) Roach. She married Harry W. Lundquist on March 17, 1932, in Lewiston, Illinois. He died June 16, 1983. She was a licensed practical nurse at Oak Glen Home for 28 years, retiring in 1980. She then owned and operated Valley High Laundry in Coal Valley for 17 years. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, where she was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. Leota is survived by six children, Phyllis Akers of Coal Valley, Doris VanDaele of Colona, Jean VanDeVoorde of Coal Valley, Betty Porter of Galesburg, Carol McCall of East Moline, and James Lundquist of Springfield, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Wilson of Bloomington, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Harry Lundquist Jr., a sister, Violet Stevenson, and two brothers, John and Isaac Roach.
