Leonard O. White, 89, of Cordova, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at home.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with doors opening for friends and family at Noon. The Rev. Ed Kuriscak from Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, will officiate. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Leonard Oscar White was born February 24, 1932, in Deer Lodge, Tennessee, the son of William Roy and Bricie Fay (Schillings) White. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Belvedere and later married Barbara Ann Sloan.
He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, traveling, and boating. He was known as a talented handyman and hustler.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Kim White of Cordova, and Tammy (Ken Slusser) White-Slusser of Cordova; a brother, Dale Kent (Dorris) White of Chickamauga, Georgia; a sister, Maureen White of Altamonte Springs, Florida; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Ray, P.C., and Pat; and sisters, Fannie and Fay.
