Leona M. Brandt

Leona M. "Lee" Brandt, 84, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona, Illinois, with Fr. Peter Zorjan celebrating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 First Street, Coal Valley, with visitation following until 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at Montana Jack's from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. following the burial.

The former Leona Mae DeVooght was born April 20, 1932, in Moline, to Arthur and Erma (Van Acker) DeVooght. She married Kenneth Eugene Brandt on February 24, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died October 31, 2008. She was employed by AT&T, and its predecessors, Illinois Bell Telephone and Ameritech, for 39 years, retiring as manager of the billing office in Peoria. After retiring, she was an active volunteer at Trinity Medical Center and Mississippi Valley Blood Bank. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Telephone Pioneers of America, and Scottish Rite 33rd Degree Wives' Club.

Lee is survived by five children and spouses, Pete and Carol Coopman of Palmer Lake, Colorado, Tom and Sherry Coopman of Trabuco, California, Paula and Brad Greeno of Coal Valley, Joseph and Chris Coopman of Glendale, Arizona, and Jim Coopman of Chicago, Illinois; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two she was eagerly anticipating; and her brother and sister-in-law, Art and Diane DeVooght of Franklin, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, and two step-sons, Steven and Jeffrey Brandt.
