The former Leona Jean Rossi was born April 13, 1940, in Moline, the daughter of Bernard and Alida (VanDamme) Rossi. She married Matthew DeVooght on June 14, 1958, in Moline.
She spent 50-plus years as a member of the Lunch Club, formerly the Card Club. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed the Bears and Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. She liked variety puzzles, puzzle books, and reading. She was especially grateful for audio books in recent years. Above all else, Leona's family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren.
