Carolyn ?Lee? Blair, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, Illinois.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at First Congregational Church, 2201 7th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, 601 21st Street, Moline. Following cremation, burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church or to the Moline Foundation, 817 Eleventh Avenue, Moline, Illinois.
The former Carolyn Tate was born November 18, 1927, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Robert Greye and Myrtle McLaughlin Tate. She married Dr. R Scott Blair on July 8, 1950. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1950 majoring in English Literature.
Lee was a member of First Congregational Church, Carolyn Getz King?s Daughters Circle, and served on the Lekotek Steering Committee of Easter Seals. She will be remembered as being selfless, cheerful, and elegant. Her southern roots were ever present in her Midwestern life. Carolyn?s knack for cooking and baking brought her family and friends together often. She always saw and appreciated the beauty of this world.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Campagna of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Susan Brandt and her husband Michael of Atlanta, Georgia and Miami, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ann Tate and William and Tootsie Tate, all of Birmingham; her former son-in-law, Jeffrey Campagna of Moline; grandchildren Blair Williams and her husband Scott of Milan, Illinois, Julie Campagna of Monmouth, Illinois, Elizabeth Brandt of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Ryan Brandt of Nashville, Tennessee.
