Paula E. Ruefer, 51, of Rock Island, Illinois, died peacefully Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Trinity Pathway Hospice at Trinity Bettendorf, Bettendorf, Iowa., with her family by her side.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Paula Elaine Jacobsen was born April 23, 1960, in Moline, the daughter of Robert Earl and Nancy Lee Rannow Jacobsen. She married Timothy Patrick Ruefer on March 28, 1981, in Rock Island. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and her cat, Jasmine. In 2009, she was especially proud of completing the Quick Bix with her daughter.
Paula is survived by her husband, Tim; three children, Joshua P. Ruefer of East Moline, Jacob M. Ruefer of Moline, and Joella E. Koenig and her husband Jon of Moline; three step-grandchildren, Joseph, John and Justin Koenig; her mother, Nancy Jacobsen of East Moline; and siblings, Debra Phillips of Milan, Colleen Trobaugh and Janelle Herrman, both of Moline, Jennifer Ballard of Silvis, and Jeffrey Jacobsen, Robert Jacobsen, Eric Jacobsen, Steven Jacobsen and David Jacobsen, all of East Moline.
Her father, Robert Earl Jacobsen, grandparents, and father-in-law, Eugene Frank Ruefer, preceded her in death.
Thanks to Dr. D. U. DeGracia and staff, Dr. Stewart C. Garneau and staff, Trinity VNHA Iowa Health Home Care, Trinity Pathway Hospice and all staff involved in keeping Paula with us for more loving memories.
