Laurie Ann Hoskins, 51, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Sunday, September 27, 2015, at her sister's home in Batavia, Illinois.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics.
Laurie was born March 30, 1964, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Bates) Hoskins.
She had attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley in her younger years. She worked at Hardee's, Happy Joe's, and many years at the the ARC of the Quad Cities in Rock Island. She loved watching television, country music, and taking her dog, Ziggy, for walks. She had a beautiful voice, with her favorite song being "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". In her younger years, she was a ferocious bee-fighter.
Laurie is survived by her father, Robert (Brenda) Hoskins of Coal Valley; siblings, Robert Hoskins, Jr. of LaBelle, Missouri, Lisa Page of Batavia, Illinois, and Brandon Hoskins of Moline; a niece, Madeleine Hoskins; two nephews, Noah and Drew Page; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Hoskins; and grandparents, Virgil "Jay" and Myrtice Bates, and Gero and Irene Hoskins.
