Larry C. Miller, 71, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018, at his home, after a long and hard battle with cancer.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Private burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.

Larry Carl Miller was born September 8, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Wayne Enoich and Mary (Baumgardner) Miller. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Sheryll Fairley on December 28, 1975, in Olin, Iowa.

Larry's career and hobby was as an industrial painter and sandblaster. He worked for Case IH for over 30 years, owned and operated L and S Painting and Sandblasting, and worked for the Rock Island Arsenal for 9 years, retiring in 2014.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and riding his Harley-Davidson. He also loved working around the house and on cars. One of his favorite things to do was to help others.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryll; three children, Dewayne Miller of Mason City, Iowa, Jason (Sara) Miller of McCausland, Iowa, and Lyssa (Chris) Hartley of Williston, North Dakota; grandchildren, Carrie Miller, Isabelle and Grant Hartley, and Molly and Madelyn Miller; a great-grandson, Gibson Gipple; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Marcella Miller of Decorah, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Michelle Reese, and Jennifer, Jeremy, and Ronald Miller; many in-laws and their families; and a special friend, Dan Montegna of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Janice Miller and Joseph Miller.
