David L. Spriet, Jr., 51, of Davenport, Iowa, who was reported missing in 2009, has been identified.
Private funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, in the chapel at Moline Memorial Park, 5001 34th Avenue, Moline, Illinois. His family will greet friends at a luncheon at Riverside United Methodist Church, 712 16th Street, Moline, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the David Spriet Memorial Fund.
David Lee Spriet, Jr. was born December 29, 1958, in Moline, the son of David L. Sr. and Delores Nicholson Spriet. He had held various jobs with the City of Moline Water Pollution Department, D & J Laundry, Midland Press, and Scott County Waste Management.
He is survived by his father, David L. Spriet, Sr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Erie, Illinois; a daughter, Jamie Lynn Spriet of Moline and her mother, Sue Horton Fowler of Rock Island; brothers, Dale Spriet and his wife Laurie of Moline, and Dean Spriet and his friend Beatrice Trott of Davenport; a nephew, Andy Spriet of Wheaton, Illinois; nieces, Dena Spriet of Alabama and Amy Spriet of South Carolina; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Daniel Spriet.
