Billie L. Shadden, 70, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Friday, July 20, 2007, in her home surrounded by her family.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Billie Louise Hughes was born June 19, 1937, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of John and Bertie (Harlow) Hughes. She married Bill L. Shadden on March 9, 1957, in Rock Island.
Billie loved her family and collecting pictures of them. She collected knick-knacks and especially loved music boxes. Her favorite song was ?Wind Beneath My Wings.?
Billie is survived by her husband, Bill; seven children and their spouses, John and Monica Shadden and Brenda and Tom Bender of Colona, Ken and Michelle Shadden of Coal Valley, Steve and Connie Shadden of Milan, Diane Keck of Davenport, William Shadden of Coal Valley, and Dale and Sandra Shadden of Davenport; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian and Daniel Boone and Carol Clark of Davenport, and Nancy and Kip Manary of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Estel Ray Hughes.
