Mary L. Daniels Dickerson, 92, of Moline, Illinois, died at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, on Thursday, February 22, 2007.
Joint services with her son-in-law, Duane S. Anderson, are 1 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Duane also died Thursday. The Reverend Dan Cole, First Baptist Church, Moline, and the Reverend Dan Witkowski, First Lutheran Church, Moline, will officiate. Mary?s burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, Illinois. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Moline, or American Cancer Society.
The former Mary Louise Lovdahl was born December 2, 1914, in Kirkwood, Illinois, the daughter of Carl Oliver and Eliza Jane (Bishop) Lovdahl. She graduated from Monmouth High School. She married Robert S. Daniels in December 1936, in Chicago. He died in 1960. She married Lawrence Dickerson in January 1964, in Galesburg. He died in 1988. She was a Nurses Aide at Galesburg Research Hospital for six years and later was an aide in ICU at the former Moline Lutheran Hospital, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church where she was very active in her younger years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and traveling.
Mary is survived by five children, Martha Lucille Anderson of Moline, Connie Daniels of Roseville, Illinois, Steve Daniels of Young Harris, Georgia, Helen Coe of Anthony, Florida, and Bill Daniels of Moline; a step-son, David Dickerson of Holland, Michigan; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mathilda Shimmin of Monmouth, Illinois; and brothers, Carl Lovdahl of Lynn Center, Illinois, and William Lovdahl of Monmouth. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a brother, Robert Lovdahl, and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Daniels.
