Mary L. Coopmans, 100, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Chesterfield.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, and 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, with Rev. Donald Levitt officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to Unity Health Hospice Memorial Fund, 1000 Des Peres Road, #200-B, St. Louis, Missouri 63131.
The former Mary Louise Cauwels was born November 2, 1906, in Atkinson, Illinois, the daughter of Leopold and Emma (Lecleir) Cauwels. She married Louis P.J. Coopmans on November 8, 1927, in Atkinson, Illinois. He died May 3, 2000. Mary worked as a beautician in Moline for many years. She and her husband were long-time Moline residents.
Survivers include her grandchildren and their spouses, Howard and Diane Coopmans of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Carrie and Kevin Harrison of Wildwood, Missouri, and Corry and Vicki Coopmans of Wildwood, Missouri, and great-grandchildren, Conner, Cooper, and Callie Harrison, and Ryan, Benjamin, and Mary Coopmans. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Kathleen Coopmans, a nephew, Arno Meoller, three brothers, and one sister.
