Kyle Medinger, 33, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kyle Medinger Memorial Fund to be established for his children.
Kyle Patrick Anthony Medinger was born October 20, 1984, in Silvis, the son of John and Leslie (Starner) Medinger. He graduated from Moline High School in 2003 and has a son, Aiden, and a daughter, Arya.
Kyle was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran who served in the 3rd Ranger Battalion, earning the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge, among others. He worked in construction when he was able to do so.
He enjoyed working out and running, loved to cook, and was always helping friends in need. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Kyle, especially his beloved children.
Kyle is survived by a son, Aiden, and his mother, Ashley Garza, and a daughter, Arya, and her mother, Becky Flores; his parents, Leslie Medinger of East Moline, and John (Cindy) Medinger of Moline; siblings, Faith (Rob) Frakes, and Justin (Lacey), Jared, Nathan (Amber), Mitchell, and Megan Medinger; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
