Kenneth R. Buford

Kenneth Buford, 58, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at home.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Moline, where he was a member. The Reverend Dr. Melvin L. Grimes will officiate. Prior to services, cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Kenneth Ray Buford was born August 3, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Willie and Barbara (Harris) Buford. He married Linda Larthridge on July 22, 1989, in Flint.

He made his living as a professional painter, but he was also quick to help those in need. He lived by his business' motto of "A professional job at a reasonable price." His passion was painting, but he also enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. Family was very important to Kenny, especially his grandchildren.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Linda Buford; his mother, Barbara Buford of Flint; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Samantha Larthridge of Grand Rapids, Michigan; grandchildren, Terry Michael, Taneya Michael, Zoee Fri, Soraya Larthridge, and Izaya Larthridge; siblings, Addnetta and James McClinton, Rosalind Buford, Monica and Harvey Williams, and Willie J. Buford, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, and their families; a close friend since childhood, Barney; and his Tabernacle Baptist Church family. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Buford, a daughter, Crystal Michael, and a brother, Alvin Buford.
