Kenneth "Lavel" Perkins, of Davenport, Iowa, and Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on his 27th birthday, March 5, 2019, at his home as a result of a seizure.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, where visitation is 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Burial is in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
Lavel was born March 5, 1992, in Davenport, the son of Kenneth Morning and LaTonya Perkins. He graduated from Central High School in Davenport and last worked at Culver's in Davenport.
Lavelle was a very caring and loving, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Family and friends were always first in Lavelle's eyes. He was a big-hearted person who always spoke positive about life and would try to make anyone smile. He enjoyed telling jokes, hanging out with friends, watching NBA games and most of all family tradition of playing spades. He loved fishing, writing, and was very talented in drawing and music.
Lavel is survived by his mother and step-father, LaTonya Perkins and Michael Ware of Forrest City; his father and step-mother, Kenneth Morning and Tenisha Ingold of Davenport; siblings, Carl "Dougie" Perkins of Forrest City, Chanoah Borden of Hawaii, and Tya Cook, Teshay Ingold, and Taonie Ingold, all of Davenport; two nieces and a nephew, Lailani, Tania, and Caden; maternal grandmother, Della Perkins of Rock Island; paternal grandparents, Eva Lee Lewis and Lavon Rush, both of Davenport; an uncle, Delwin Perkins of Moline; an aunt, Nyssa Perkins of Rock Island; and a special friend, Tabatha Woods of Forrest City. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Carl Douglas Prater; great-grandparents, Mildred and John W. Perkins, Sr.; and great-uncles, Anthony Powell and Willie Gerald Perkins.
