Kenneth John Kerofsky, 18, of Moline, Illinois, was pronounced dead Thursday, December 22, 2016, following a drowning accident in the Rock River.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Reverend Tim Gossett officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Timothy Kerofsky or through GoFundMe.com.
Kenny was born June 24, 1998, in Newport, Rhode Island, to Timothy Lee and Jill Janine Meister Kerofsky. He graduated from Moline High School this year, and was attending Black Hawk College. He attended the youth group at New Life Fellowship, and enjoyed soccer, football, snowboarding, art, and martial arts. He was known for his boyish grin and will be remembered as a child at heart who loved to give hugs.
Kenny is survived by his parents, Jill and Tim Kerofsky of Moline; a brother, Timothy Michael Kerofsky of Rock Island; and grandparents, Sharon and Michael Kerofsky and Jacqueline Pierce, all of Moline; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jan Meister.
