Kathlein C. Griffin, 75, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, with The Reverend Scott Carlson officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Youth Fellowship (RUMYF).
Kathlein Carol Wilde was born April 11, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Zelma Carrol Francis Wilde. She graduated from Cuba, Illinois, high school, where she was a cheerleader. She married John E. Griffin on September 29, 1961, in Moline.
Kathy was an active member of Riverside United Methodist Church for many years, where she served on the Official Board, and as a youth counselor, Youth Coordinator, and Sunday school teacher; and was a member of United Methodist Women of the church. She had served as chairman of the Quad Cities Christian Woman's Club, had been active in PTA, and was an election judge for many years. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Moline Maroons, the Illini, and both the Cubs and the Cardinals.
Kathy is survived by her husband, John; two children and their spouses, Deborah and Mark Senko of Moline, and John B. and Diane Griffin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, Christopher Senko, Matthew Senko, Brooke Griffin, Kayla Griffin, and Lauren Griffin; and her brother and sister-in-law, Art and Joan Lehmann of Lexington, Kentucky.
