Kathleen M. Kelly

Kathleen M. Kelly, 95, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1450 30th Avenue, East Moline, with The Rev. Kent Umbarger officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, and a luncheon at the church will follow the burial. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is serving the family.

The former Kathleen Mae Kelly was born May 20, 1923, in Geneseo, Illinois, to Perry and Rose Firch Schmoll. She attended Illinois State University and graduated from Augustana College. She married Wendell Ray Kelly on December 20, 1943, in Geneseo. He died February 21, 1986. She was a teacher for Moline School District #40 for 16 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid group; Fine Arts Club, and Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading and dancing.

Kathleen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Lois Kelly of Moline; two grandsons, Scott Kelly of Lombard, Illinois, and Brian Kelly of Moline; and her brother and sister-in-law, Donavon and Marjorie Schmoll of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Stephen Kelly.
