Kathleen S. DePauw

Kathleen S. DePauw, 70, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, March 29, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Kathleen’s family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Kathleen Sue DePauw was born June 3, 1954, in Geneseo, Illinois, the daughter of John Stanley and Anita Zora (Griff) DePauw. She married Robert Cronin and even though the couple separated, they remained friends.

She took pride in her career as a self-employed beautician and hair stylist. Her goal was to make others feel better about the way they looked. Her career was in line with how she lived her life, always thinking about others and trying to make them feel better.

She enjoyed shopping on QVC and Amazon and was a true artist who especially loved painting rocks. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Kathleen, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her many dogs over the years and will always be remembered for caring for everyone around her and for being her family’s beacon whenever they needed support.

Kathleen is survived by three children, Heather (George) VanDyke of East Moline, Clint Cronin of Orange Park, Florida, and Kyle (Jessica) DePauw of Milan, Illinois; Kathy Trone, who was like a daughter to Kathleen; six grandchildren, Drew (Stacie) VanDyke, Tanner (Catherine) Pfister, Joshua (Stephanie) VanDyke, Damian Hobert, Roxanne Hobert, and Sebastian DePauw; eight great-grandchildren, Blair, Jakob, Addy, George, Aviana, Mia, Leilani, and Gianni; her brother, Dennis (Mary) DePauw; her niece, Chrissy DePauw; nephews, Matthew, Brandon and Sean DePauw; and her beloved dog, Cindy Lou. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Johnny and Mark DePauw; and her dog, CZ.
