Kari Taylor, 62, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
The family invites friends to celebrate Kari's life on Sunday, November 3, beginning with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. A hospitality gathering will follow at CityView Celebrations in the lower level of Trimble Pointe until 6:30 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory prior to services. Memorials may be made to the family.
The former Kari Kephart was born January 14, 1957, in Moline, the daughter of Henry and Doris (Witham) Kephart. She married Jeffrey D. Taylor on February 14, 1979, in Moline. He died October 14, 2017.
She worked for the Rock Island Arsenal for over 10 years before becoming a day-care provider. For over 20 years, she has been a hostess at the Olive Garden in Davenport.
Kari was a competitive game player, regularly beating her daughters at Aggravation. She was an avid reader, enjoyed scary movies, and loved music (especially Elvis and Chris Isaak). Family was everything to Kari. Her husband, Jeff, was her soulmate, not to mention bowling partner, her daughters were her pride and joy, not to mention best friends, and her grandchildren were the light of "Nana's" life.
She was always upbeat and young at heart. She bedazzled so many things that if it was possible, the obituary you are reading would be bedazzled!
Kari is survived by three daughters, Jesika (Christopher) Graeber, and Jenika (Ray Ray) Overton, all of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Jerika (Steve Perkins) Taylor of Davenport; her fur babies, Nora Lee and Stan Lee; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Bailee and Owen Graeber, Amery, Ayden, Arwyn and Abner Overton, and Wesley Taylor Perkins; sisters, Kim Taylor and Kyle Franklin; a brother-in-law, Garry (Marsha Murphy) Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Kephart and Doris Nutt, and her husband.
