Justin Lee Glaspie was born January 16, 1980, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Donald and Teresa (Slayden) Glaspie. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School. He married Dorraine Taylor, whom he remained friends with after separating.
From a young age, he had always been a hard worker. He formed a neighborhood group called “Good Helpers,” always eager to lend a hand—whether it was mowing lawns, shoveling snow, or building sheds. That dedication to hard work remained a hallmark of his character throughout his life as he continued as a 2nd generation garage builder.
Cooking was one of Justin’s greatest passions, and he took pride in his culinary skills. Whether he was grilling, smoking meats, or whipping up a classic home-cooked meal, he poured his heart into everything he made. His biscuits and gravy and meatloaf were legendary among family and friends. He also loved the great outdoors, spending his free time camping with friends and family, playing a game of sand volleyball or bags.
A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Justin’s love for his team was evident in every corner of his home. A Cowboys star adorned his office wall, serving as a testament to his unwavering support. His enthusiasm for the game was contagious, and he enjoyed sharing it with those closest to him.
Justin is survived by his son, Terry Glaspie; father, Donald Glaspie; siblings, Nakol (Terry) Biggs and Heather Glaspie; four nieces; two nephews; 1 great-niece; 1 great-nephew; fence brother, Nick (Britany) Wright; and his fur babies, Camo and Crazy. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Justin’s generosity, loyalty, and love will be remembered always. He lived his life with a strong work ethic, a kind heart, and a deep appreciation for family and friends. Though he is gone, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
