Julio Zapata-Palma “Catracho”, 41, of Moline, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at home.
Visitation is 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, with services at 6:00 p.m. in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
Julio was born January 26, 1979, in Honduras, the son of Julio Zapata and Yolanda Palma-Torres. He owned and operated Zapata Construction & Home Improvement. He enjoyed soccer and helping others.
Catracho is survived by his mother, Yolanda Palma-Torres of Moline; his father, Julio Zapata of Honduras; two sisters, Iris (Nicolas) Gutierrez, and Nancy (fiancé Rolando Chirinos) Reyes, both of Moline; siblings in Honduras, Fanny Lizeth Zapata, Sandra Patricia Zapata, Miguel Angel Zapata, Estefany Julissa Zapata, and Ivania Yaritza Zapata; nieces and nephews, Oscar Gutierrez, Guadalupe Gutierrez, Gesela (fiancé Brian Flores) Reyes, Irvin Reyes, Yesenia Reyes, and Michael Idelwine, all of Moline; an uncle, Jose Palma of Moline; and cousins, Delmys Idelwine, and Karla, Joel, and Marlin Palma.
