Judith A. Hynes, 72, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, Illinois.
A celebration of Judy's life is 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, with visitation from 2:00 until the time of service. Cremation will take at Trimble Crematory, Moline, prior to services, with burial at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Care and Control Shelter.
The former Judith Ann Cottrell was born February 21, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of John Jr. and Evelyn (Sigler) Cottrell. She was a part of the first graduating class of the "New" Moline High School in 1961. She married John Hynes on August 9, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa.
Judy was a homemaker most of her life, but spent time working at Regalia Manufacturing Company and the Villa Montessori School in Rock Island, and D's Polishing in East Moline. She was a member of the Coal Valley Lions Club, and coached several baseball teams with her husband. She enjoyed fishing, crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband, John L. Hynes, Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Rodney Beaston of Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Mary Hynes of Port Byron, Illinois; four grandchildren, Daniel Beaston, PFC Tyler Hynes, John B. Hynes, and Kalee Beaston; and a special friend of the family, who was like a son to Judy, Jim Sellers, Sr. and his wife, Karlene, of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, John L. Hynes, Jr.
