Joyce M. Carlson, 77, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Carolyn Getz Circle of King?s Daughters or Rock Island County Historical Society.
Miss Carlson was born September 21, 1929, in Moline, the daughter of Claude E. and Julia Elvira (Lundeen) Carlson. She was a purchasing agent for Deere and Company for over thirty years.
She was a member of Carolyn Getz Circle of King?s Daughters for over 60 years, and the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club. She was an avid golfer and bowler, and continued to bowl until her death. She belonged to several Bridge clubs and the Wednesday Lunch Bunch with her high school friends. She was fascinated by genealogy, enjoyed researching history and tracing her family back to their Swedish origin, and enjoyed the Putnam Museum travelogues.
Joyce is survived by cousins, Jane Lundeen of East Moline, and her son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Debbie Lundeen and their son Ryan of Moline; Pat and Dave Guild of Naples, Florida, and their children, Sandy and Eric Larson, Carla and George Cifra, Joel Guild, and Delia and John Longthorne; and Julie Peterson of Iowa City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and many cousins.
