Joyce M. Bjork, 60, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Gene A. Meyers officiating. Burial is in Dayton Corners Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
The former Joyce Marie Stilwell was born April 18, 1946, in Pearl, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur and Lela (Schlieper) Stilwell. She married James W. Friday. She married Clarence Bjork in 1980. He died in 1985. Joyce loved taking care of children, and had a secret recipe for making the best potato salad.
Joyce is survived by a daughter, Tena Hurt, and a son, James W. Friday, both of Rock Island; four grandchildren, Kevin Hurt II, Teri Secor, Vernon Hart III, and James Hart; sisters, Dorothy King of Geneseo, and Virginia Kain of Rock Island; and brothers, Russell Stilwell and Dale Stilwell, both of Colona. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Layman, and a brother, Daniel Stilwell.
