Josue Colman

JoSue Colman, 86, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services.

The former JoSue Dunkin was born September 30, 1928, in Unionville, Missouri, the daughter of Carl and Edith (Altizer) Dunkin. She married James Delp on April 3, 1948, in Rock Island. He died February 20, 1961. She married Ray Colman on January 10, 1968, in Rock Island. He died December 29, 1978.

Jo worked in food service, retiring from Western Illinois University. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, bowling, golfing, and travel. She especially loved being with friends and family.

JoSue is survived by three children, Linda (Bob) Wehr of Davenport, Iowa, Mary Wise of Willow Spring, North Carolina, and Michael (Debbie) Delp of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeff and James Wehr of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Paul Wise and Kari Sawyer of North Carolina; seven great-grandchildre; sisters, Donna (Gordon) Reese of Acworth, Georgia, and Glenda (Richard) Putnam of Carthage, Illinois; a brother, Jim (Dana) Dunkin of Keno, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, two grandchildren, four brothers, and five sisters.
