Josephine Morales, 91, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois, surrounded by her family.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, and 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary?s Catholic Church, Moline, Illinois, with The Reverend Jerry Pilon officiating. Burial is in St. Mary?s Cemetery, East Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Saint Mary?s Catholic Church.
The former Josephine Mendoza was born March 16, 1915, in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Demetrio and Juana (Mata) Mendoza. She married Julian Morales in 1934, in Moline, Illinois. He died May 29, 1980.
Josephine?s true job was raising eight children, but she found time to work part time at Fresh-Pak Candy Company.
Josephine is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph R. and Maria Morales of Moline, Ramona M. and James W. Lackey of Monmouth, Illinois, Carmen and Joseph Castro of Moline, Theri Mathias of Silvis, Eleanor Morales of Florida, Daniel and Wanda Morales of Arizona, Mary and Roger Cruse of Springfield, Illinois, and Gilbert and Chris Morales of Andalusia, Illinois; sisters, Frances Herrera, and Lupe Martinez; brothers, Joseph and Angelo Mendoza, all of the Quad Cities; 39 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, two sisters, granddaughters, Isidra and Andrea, and a great-grandson, Joshua.
Angels came down and escorted the soul of our Beloved Mother to her home in Heaven. Josephine had a deep commitment to her faith in God.
