Joseph A. Belgarde, 62, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, December 9, 2011, in his home.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Joe was born November 26, 1949, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Andrew and Josephine Nikle Belgarde. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Carla Gilbert on July 4, 2002, in Moline. He was a machinist at Burgess-Norton, Geneva, Illinois. He enjoyed auto racing, road trips, cooking, fishing, playing cards, and duck hunting.
Joe is survived by his wife, Carla; children, Kristine Luster and her husband Tres of Aurora, Illinois, and Gary Belgarde of Marana, Arizona; three grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Jane Sweetland, Roseanne Kline, June Williams, and Martha Belgarde, all of North Dakota, Joyce Finley of North Carolina, and Kathleeline Roberts of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joanne, in infancy.
