Jorge Ruiz Jr., 30, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, August 28, 2006, in his home.
Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday with a Time of Sharing at 5:30 p.m. in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials may be made to his family.
Jorge Ruiz Jr. was born April 5, 1976, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Jorge Ruiz Sr. and Cynthia Reyna. He graduated from Ullyses S. Grant High School in California. He worked for Budget Rent A Car and Hertz Car Rental as a car prep before working at Fanfair Sports as an advertising salesman.
Jorge loved scrabble and food. He enjoyed traveling to Chicago, listening to music, and watching movies.
Jorge is survived by his parents; his sister Cristina Ruiz and her significant other, Patrick Struble, of Moline; his sister, Gabriella Hurtado of East Moline; nephews, Damian Ruiz and Devin Struble, both of Moline; nieces, Thalia Ruiz of Moline and Giana Hurtado of East Moline; his grandfather, Salvador Ruiz of Mexico; the love of his life, Karen Mager of Moline; special friends, John Medunik and Jeff Tertipes, both of Moline, and Carlos Sandoval of East Moline; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Simon and Juanita Reyna, and Maria DeJesus Mendez, and his uncles, Salvador Ruiz and Louie Gutierrez.
Everyone that Jorge met liked him instantly. His playful jokes and warm smile will be greatly missed.
