Paul L. Taets, 74, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, with Fr. Don Levitt officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
Paul Lawrence Taets was born August 18, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Peter and Jennie Staelens Taets. He married Judy Mae Harder on June 9, 1962, in Moline. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, and was then employed at Case IH and its predecessors for 36 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, and Moline Viking Lodge, and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
Paul is survived by his wife, Judy; two children and their spouses, Julie and Tim Nemmer of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, and Michael and Laura Taets of Westport, Connecticut; and six grandchildren, Allison, Joey and Patrick Nemmer, and Jessica, Peter, and Andrew Taets. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Millie and Arlene Schaubroeck.
