Jonathan was born October 29, 1979, in Moline, to Watson and Beverly (Harris) Hutchins. He married the love of his life, his soulmate, and his "panda butt" Ruisha Zhang whom he introduced to others as "ray of sunshine sha" on March 20, 2015, in Bloomington.
Jonathan grew up in Moline, graduating from Moline High School in 1998. He studied Sociology, earning his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University and master's degree from University of Northern Iowa. To make a bigger impact he earned an MBA from Illinois State University, where he met his wife.
Led by his passion for helping and coaching others, Jonathan developed the leadership development program - CHAIL U for Children's Home Association of Illinois, where he worked as a Quality and Performance Improvement Manager. He dedicated more than a decade of his love and energy, working with children as a mental health therapist, as well as a supervisor and adjunct professor.
Jonathan lived by the words of Booker T. Washington "If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else." His fun and kind personality impacted the lives of everyone he touched. Whether it was on the soccer field or cooking a delicious meal, Jonathan always took time to listen to others and respond with wisdom. Jonathan would want to see his positive energy maintained and spread throughout the world.
Jonathan is survived by his beloved wife, Ruisha; his parents, Watson and Beverly Hutchins, of Moline; his brother, Jason (Carrie) Hutchins of Davenport; nieces and nephews, Aliyah, Javon, Savannah, and Silas. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was proceeded in death by grandparents, James & Savannah Hutchins and Tom & Fanell Harris.
As a celebration of life, Jonathan's wife, Ruisha, would like to build a collection of memories of Jonathan's impact on the world. If you would like to contribute your stories to this memoir, please contact Ruisha at ruishaz@gmail.com. He is loved by many and will not be forgotten.
