John H. Anderson

John H. Anderson, 80, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, in Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline.

Mr. Anderson was born February 13, 1922, in Dorchester, Iowa, the son of John and Anna (Dehning) Anderson. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He married Mabel Hansen Harder on November 27, 1959, in Moline. He worked for W. G. Block Co., Davenport, Iowa, as a teamster driving ready mix trucks for 31 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, Moline Viking Lodge, and Moline American Legion Post #246. He enjoyed dancing and playing cards.

John is survived by his wife, Mabel; a step-daughter and her husband, Judy and Paul Taets of Moline; a step-son, William Harder of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida; three step-grandchildren and their spouses, Julie and Tim Nemmer of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Nicole and Rich Herbst of Moline, and Michael and Laura Taets of Reston, Virginia; six step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mae Kittelson of Delevan, Wisconsin; and a brother, Oliver Anderson of Decorah, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nellie Korsen.
