John M. Gaines

John M. Gaines, 58, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Unity Point Hospital, Bettendorf, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Davenport on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:00 am, and a luncheon will follow at the church. Cremation will take place prior to the celebration of life at Trimble Funeral Home, in Moline.  There will be no visitation.

John Matthew Gaines was born December 29, 1964, in Davenport, to Kenneth and Ruth (Moeller) Gaines.

John was the owner of Forest Road Consulting for more than 25 years. He was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, Davenport, and was a board member and volunteer at the Friendly Thrift Center. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, traveling, photography, spending time with his furry kids along with his wife, Sheila. 

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Ryan-Kistenmacher; step-children, Ryan Kistenmacher, and Lindsey (Josh) Miller; his brother, Ken (Sara) Gaines and nephews, Gus and Jess. He is preceded by his parents; step-father, Glenn Thomas; and brother, Bill Gaines.
