John A. "Jack" Brumbaugh, 84, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, 1201 13th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Tim Gossett officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or Shriner's Children's Hospitals.
John Arthur Brumbaugh was born July 25, 1932, in Moline, to Charles and Evelyn Ericksen Brumbaugh. He married Joan Evelyn Coryell on March 6, 1955, in Moline. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was employed by Frizelle and Parsons, Moline, for 66 years, retiring as designer and plant manager in 1998. He was a member of the Official Board of the church, past president of Moline Kiwanis Club, past president of Blackhawk Shrine Club, and a member of Moline Lodge #1014, AF & AM, Kaaba Shrine Temple, and Korean Veterans Association, and the former Moline Turners. He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed music, fishing, boating, and woodworking.
Jack is survived by his wife, Joan; two children and spouses, Cheryl and Tom Littrel of Cambridge, Illinois, and Kenneth and Barbara Brumbaugh of West Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings and spouses, Joan and Ross Muench of Normal, Illinois, and James and Judy Brumbaugh of Moline. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Noland.
