JoAnn Sandusky, 72, of Coal Valley, died, September 29, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10:00 AM, Saturday at The Jesus Church, Silvis, IL were she was a member with committal following at Western Township Cemetery, Orion, IL. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, IL. Memorial gifts may be given to her church. The former JoAnn Hedrick was born April 10, 1932 in Hennepin OK, the daughter of W.W. "Bounce" and Dovie (Foster) Hedrick. She graduated from Woodland High School in Oklahoma were she played on the girls basketball team. JoAnn married Euin Samuel "Sam" Sandusky, August 28, 1953 in Gainesville, TX. She was employed as a waitress at her families restaurant back in Hennepin, then became a homemaker and mother for over 51 years. JoAnn had a strong faith in God and loved her church, where she was very supportive of her ministerial staff. She was active in the women's prayer group, the women's care and share group, and taught Sunday School for over 25 years. You could always count on JoAnn during a prayer chain, to help cook, bake cookies or lend a hand in whatever task needed to be done. She loved being with her family, especially during the Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. JoAnn will be deeply missed by her; special friends, family, and everyone in her church family. JoAnn is survived be her husband of 51 years, Sam, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Lee Sandusky, Euin Todd and Kelli Sandusky, all of Coal Valley, and Brian Scott Sandusky of Orion, three grandchildren, Jessica Jean Sandusky, Euin Zane Sandusky, and Erica Elizabeth Sandusky, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorethea and Neil Northcutt, and Joyce and John Yoder, all of Davis, OK, two brothers, Bill Hedrick of East Moline, IL, and Bob Hedrick of Coal Valley, and a brother-in-law, Jim Pickett of Elmore City, OK. JoAnn was preceded in death by a sister, Onice Pickett, and a sister-in-law, Mary Hedrick.
