Jo Wetzsteon

Jo Wetzsteon, 79, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, November 29, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Following burial, friends are invited to join the family at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe for a funeral luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Bible Chapel, Davenport, Iowa, or UnityPoint Health-Trinity Cancer Center.

The former Joanne Marie Gibbons was born August 7, 1935, in Hollywood, California, to Boyd Harrison Jr. and Anita (McLure) Gibbons. She attended Oregon State University and Montana State University. She married Don J. Wetzsteon on August 20, 1955, and they were later divorced. Jo was first and foremost a stay-at-home mom, and later worked for John Deere. She was a member of Harvest Bible Chapel, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and Toastmasters in California. She loved the Lord, was an avid reader, loved to paint and draw, enjoyed flowers and gardening, and volunteered at the former Moline Public Hospital and Parkview Health Care Center.

Jo is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Mark Allmendinger of East Moline, and Stacey and Bruce Blomme of Bettendorf; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Jeff Osborn, Becky and Todd Newcomer, Ashley Grace Gregory, Ethan Blomme, and Owen Blomme; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Ruby Osborn; a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Gay Gibbons of Spring Green, Wisconsin; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Art Leonard of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Jo's family thanks her friends and family at Bickford Cottage in Davenport, and gives a special thanks to the amazing medical team at the Trinity Cancer Center who made up Team Jo Jo.
