Jo Anne Meyer

Jo Anne Meyer, 83, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, August 12, 2024, at home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Jo Anne’s memory.

Jo Anne Hoskins was born November 27, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Gero and Irene (Harrington) Hoskins. She married Jack Ernest Meyer on April 22, 1961, in Coal Valley. He died September 17, 1993. 

Jo Anne worked for International Harvester for 10 years prior to devoting herself to her family. She enjoyed birdwatching, gardening and walking outside. She especially enjoyed traveling, ice cream and animals of all kinds. 

Jo Anne is survived by two children, Tracey McLoone, MD and Kurt Meyer, both of Coal Valley; her beloved grandchildren, Jack and Claire McLoone; a niece and nephew, Lisa Page and Brandon Hoskins; a great-niece and great-nephews, Madeleine Hoskins, Noah Page and Drew Page; and special friends, Marty and Dorothy Shannon, and Kim Hoskins and Yannis Kolettis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Meyer; her brother, Robert Hoskins, Sr.; and a niece and nephew, Laurie Hoskins and Robert Hoskins, Jr.
