Jimmy W. Whitfield

Jimmy W. Whitfield, Sr., 62, of Aledo, Illinois, formerly of Oroville, California, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A gathering to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. 

Jimmy Wane Whitfield was born July 23, 1960, in Oroville, California, the son of Little Emmitt and Sarah (Shumpert) Whitfield.  He married Faith Kimberly Bruner on August 2, 2003, in California.  She died June 27, 2002.

Family was the most important thing to Jimmy. 

Jimmy is survived by three children, Jessica (Brian) Miller of Farmington, Missouri, Jimmy W. (Mike) Whitfield, Jr. of Aledo, and Urijah Whitfield of Aledo; his grandchildren, Zach Rodriguez, Malik Gordon, Urijah Whitfield and Grayson Miller; his siblings, Carl Andrew Whitfield, Sr., George Wayne Whitfield, and Alexander Whitfield, Sr.; Mark Cahee, who was like a brother to Jimmy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, L.E. and Sarah Whitfield, and siblings, Charles Whitfield, Sr. and Glenda Whitfield.
