Jim Ferguson

Jim Ferguson, 77, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, in his home.

A private family gathering will be held at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, , Moline, followed by burial in Rock Island National Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors.

Jimmie Lacy Ferguson was born November 1, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Melvin and Daisy (Williams) Ferguson. He served in the U. S. Army and the Army Reserves for six years, and married Kay F. Brugman on June 6, 1958, in Fort Worth. He was a planning engineer for Caterpillar for 28 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the V.F.W., golfed his whole life, and was a big NASCAR fan, having raced stock cars when he was younger.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kay; two children and spouses, Sophina and Kent Dirck of East Moline, and James and Linda Ferguson of Peotone, Illinois; six grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey), Benjamin, Lacey, and Beau Dirck and Tyler and Sara Kay Ferguson; and a great-granddaughter, Haley Lynn Dirck. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Ferguson.
